With the introduction of physical distancing and shelter in place due to COVID-19, we at the Patient Empowerment Network recognized that this is likely a lonely and isolating experience for many patients and care partners. Our goal during the COVID-19 pandemic has remained steadily fixed on providing patients and care partners with tools and resources that help keep them informed and connected. That is why we, in conjunction with a team of patients and care partners, created the PEN-Powered Activity Guides. These fun, free downloadable guides are full of tips, ideas, and resources to help you through this uncertain time and anytime you need it.
The first two volumes of the PEN-Powered Activity Guide were created to share inspiration, ideas, and encouragement during COVID-19. During an uncertain time such as this, there are several things we can do to manage stress and anxiety. In these volumes you will find tips and resources to help you relax and practice mindfulness.
After the positive feedback we received from the release of the first two volumes of the guide, we are thrilled to announce the release of our next PEN-Powered Activity Guide: Utilizing Telemedicine Tools and Staying Connected. The coronavirus pandemic has highlighted the importance of telemedicine, and this volume is designed to help patients and care partners understand and access telemedicine. The guide features a complete breakdown of telemedicine from Dr. Joe Kvedar, President of the American Telemedicine Association (ATA).
Our hope in producing Volume III of the PEN-Powered Activity Guide is that, in some small way, it encourages you to do everything you can do to stay connected, to be more informed, and empower you to take the best care possible of yourself and your loved ones.
