2018 Conference

Workshop Recap: Lead with the story: How to capture hearts, change minds, and inspire action

On May 16, the What’s the Fix? the conference kicked off with two pre-conference workshops. This workshop, led by Kijana Knight-Torres, teaches you how to craft and tell a great story – all in an hour and a half!

About the Workshop:
Everyone has a story – yes even you! Your experience is the key to creating movement and change. Crafting compelling stories can enable people to escape their comfort zones and share a new perspective. This workshop led by Kijana Knight-Torres, Design Researcher at the Design Institute for Health will uncover what makes good stories tick and guide participants in the process of creating meaningful connections with others and helping listeners transition from “I know” to “I understand.”

Core Focus:
There are numerous ways to convince people of our ideas. Stories can help us breathe our intention into others so that they see what we see and feel what we feel.

I have always been passionate about bringing people together and driving positive change in the world. I am thrilled to bring my many years of marketing, engagement and community management experience to the #WTFix campaign and I love having the opportunity to highlight as many people, and their incredible stories, as possible in our push to change health care for the better!
